Strange Tales v1 #69, 1959 - Older and wheelchair-bound, a wealthy man charters a yacht and its crew for an impossible mission: to find the lost city of Atlantis. Jack Kirby draws this brief story somewhat conservatively, yet within his uniquely recognizable style. Except for the first page, the artist consistently uses a standard six-panel grid. Interestingly, the main character resembles another invalid that would be introduced a few years later: Professor X. In a separate story, one man stumbles upon another dimension, accessible only through dreams. Ironically,
Steve Ditko depicts its weird inhabitants in two dimensions, similar to paper dolls. Visually, he gets his point across in a clear and creative way. As usual, Ditko's artfully designed title page lures the reader in. Both stories were later reprinted in
