Marvel Super Special #27 / Return of the Jedi - Al Williamson art

Marvel Super Special #27
Marvel Super Special v1 #27 / Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, 1983 - Al Williamson adapts the third installment of the Star Wars saga, his second on the franchise. Despite the long length, the artist maintains a high standard throughout. There are many excellent scenes, but particularly noteworthy are Luke's training sessions with Yoda (page 30), his meeting with Leia (page 47) and an armada of spaceships (page 34). Carlos Garzon shares the inking chores with Tom Palmer and Ron Frenz. Together, they more or less aim for consistency of style. The back cover of Darth Vader is originally from a pin-up page in Marvel Super Special #16. This story was reprinted in 4 parts in the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. This is 3 of 3 Marvel Super Special issues by Williamson.
