Batman Dark Detective #1 - Marshall Rogers art & cover + 1st issue

Marshall Rogers
Batman Dark Detective v1 #1, 2005 - Announcing his candidacy for governor, the Joker, in true sociopathic fashion, threatens anyone who doesn't vote for him. The Batman encounters his long lost love Silver St. Cloud. Long after their acclaimed run in Detective Comics #468-479Marshall Rogers, writer Steve Englehart and inker Terry Austin combine their talents once more. The cover pays homage to the iconic James Montgomery Flagg recruiting poster from the 1940s. Rogers has his moments, particularly in the layouts and panel sequencing. Unfortunately, his work pales compared to the original run, which had more boldness and spontaneity. The computer-aided coloring adds richness to the drawings, but not enough to compensate. This is 1 of 6 Batman Dark Detective issues by Rogers. /// key 1st issue
