Kull #12 - Mike Ploog art & cover, Steve Ditko reprint

Mike Ploog
Kull the Destroyer v1 #12, 1974Mike Ploog's efforts are less effective than his previous issue, mostly due to his relinquishment of the inking chores. Sal Buscema unfortunately fails to capture the initial spontaneity of the pencils. Details seems to be omitted on many panels. Additionally, another inker (John Romita perhaps?) appears to have taken over on page 17, causing inconsistency midway through the tale. Despite this, the integrity of Ploog's original intent is maintained. "The Stone Man", a fine four-page Steve Ditko reprint from Journey into Mystery #70 rounds out the issue. This is 2 of 5 Kull issues by Ploog. /// Ploog gallery
